Wellness Wednesday: Quinoa Salad



Hello everyone! I hope you have had a great week.
Today is the very first Wellness Wednesdays segment and we are starting with one of my favorite dishes. 

                                  Quinoa Salad                                      

                                                This includes:                                                                       
Quinoa           Red grape tomatoes           Sugar Snap Peas          Broccoli
Carrot slices          Cubed sweet Red Peppers          Garden grown Basil    
Sea Salt and Pepper to taste


For those of you who don't know, Quinoa is a very nutritious seed; opposed to popular belief, it is not a grain. It contains 9 essential amino acids which makes it a complete protein source. While being Kosher, gluten-free, and cholesterol-free, this seed is one of the fastest to prepare with a cook time of 10-15 minutes.  Below is the nutrition facts for just over 1/3 a cup:

 

What a great substitute Quinoa is instead of rice or grains.
This is super easy to make and super delicious to eat.
